I believe that creating is the most authentic way to express my understanding of the world. I have enjoyed spending time outdoors since I was a child. God’s creation never ceases to intrigue me and drive me to explore the natural world further.

I grew up spending summers camping in the mountains of Tennessee and all across the United States exploring historical sites and national parks with my family. My husband and I have continued this tradition by vacationing with our two son’s in over 15 national parks. While the north Georgia mountains are my home I have a special place in my heart for the beauty of the southwest. On these trips I sketch and photograph locations, botanicals and more to work from in my studio at home. Engaging in creating this imagery in my studio is a path to return to these locations time and time again.
